Ques. 1JEE Main 2024, 29 January (Evening Shift)

Molality of 0.8 M H2SO4 solution (density 1.06 g cm-3) is 10-3 m.

Answer

815

Solution

Take 1 L solution: mass = 1000 × 1.06 = 1060 g

Solute = 0.8 mol × 98 = 78.4 g ⇒ solvent = 1060 − 78.4 = 981.6 g

∴ m = 0.80.9816 = 0.815 m = 815 × 10-3 m

Answer: 815
