Which of the following characteristics represent 'Inheritance of blood groups' in humans?

  1. B, C and E only
  2. A, B and C only
  3. B, D and E only
  4. A, C and E only

Answer

(2) A, B and C only

Solution

As per NCERT, ABO blood groups are controlled by the gene I, which has three alleles IA, IB and i multiple allele (C).

IA and IB are completely dominant over i dominance (A).

When IA and IB are present together, both express their own sugar (blood group AB) co-dominance (B).

Incomplete dominance and polygenic inheritance are not shown by ABO blood groups.

A, B and C are correct.

Answer: (2)
