Ectophloic siphonostele is found in

  1. Osmunda and Equisetum
  2. Marsilea and Botrychium
  3. Adiantum and Cucurbitaceae
  4. Dicksonia and Maiden hair fern.

Answer

(1) Osmunda and Equisetum

Solution

A siphonostele is a stele with a central pith surrounded by vascular tissue.

⇒ In an ectophloic siphonostele the phloem lies only on the outer side of the xylem (no inner phloem).

⇒ It occurs in Osmunda and Equisetum.

∵ Marsilea, Adiantum and Dicksonia have amphiphloic siphonostele / solenostele or dictyostele (phloem on both sides of xylem), and the Cucurbitaceae have bicollateral bundles.
