In photosynthesis energy from light reaction to dark reaction is transferred in the form of

  1. ADP
  2. ATP
  3. RuDP
  4. chlorophyll

Answer

(2) ATP

Solution

As per NCERT, the products of the light reaction are ATP, NADPH and O2.

⇒ O2 diffuses out of the chloroplast, while ATP and NADPH are used to drive the biosynthetic (dark) phase, i.e., the Calvin cycle.

∴ Energy is carried from the light reaction to the dark reaction as ATP (the energy currency), with NADPH as the reducing power.

Answer: (2)
