Reactivity order of halides for dehydrohalogenation is

  1. R-F > R-Cl > R-Br > R-I
  2. R-I > R-Br > R-Cl > R-F
  3. R-I > R-Cl > R-Br > R-F
  4. R-F > R-I > R-Br > R-Cl

Answer

(2) R-I > R-Br > R-Cl > R-F

Solution

In dehydrohalogenation the C-X bond is broken.

Bond enthalpy: C-F > C-Cl > C-Br > C-I ⇒ the weaker the bond, the easier its cleavage.

∴ As per NCERT, for the same alkyl group the reactivity order is R-I > R-Br > R-Cl > R-F.
