What is the figure given below showing in particular ? [Figure]

  1. Uterine cancer
  2. Vasectomy
  3. Tubectomy
  4. Ovarian cancer

Answer

(3) Tubectomy

Solution

The figure shows the female reproductive tract (uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries) in which a small part of each fallopian tube has been cut and tied up.

As per NCERT, in tubectomy a small part of the fallopian tube is removed or tied up through a small incision in the abdomen or through the vagina; this blocks gamete transport and prevents conception.

Vasectomy is the corresponding method in males (vas deferens).
