Refer to the logic circuit given below. For two inputs (A=1, B=1) and (A=0, B=1), output (Y) will be . [figure]

  1. 1, 0 respectively
  2. 0, 1 respectively
  3. 0, 0 respectively
  4. 1, 1 respectively

Answer

(3) 0, 0 respectively

Solution

NOT gate: A

OR gate (inputs A, B): Y1= A+B

AND gate (inputs A, B): Y2= A B

NOR gate: Y= Y1+Y2= A+B+ AB

∵ A+ AB= A ⇒ Y= A+B=A B (De Morgan)

A=1, B=1: Y=1 0=0

A=0, B=1: Y=0 0=0

∴ Outputs are 0, 0 respectively.

Answer: (3)
