Mutations can be induced with :

  1. Gamma radiation
  2. Infra Red radiations
  3. IAA
  4. Ethylene

Answer

(1) Gamma radiation

Solution

As per NCERT, mutations can be induced artificially by chemicals or radiations such as gamma radiations and UV radiations (mutagens).

Gamma radiation is a high-energy ionising radiation that alters the base sequence of DNA.

Infra red radiation only produces heat, while IAA (an auxin) and ethylene are plant growth regulators, they do not cause mutation.

Answer: (1)
