Reason of lung cancer is:

  1. Calcium fluoride
  2. Cement factory
  3. Asbestos
  4. Bauxite mining

Answer

(3) Asbestos

Solution

As per NCERT, agents that transform normal cells into cancerous neoplastic cells are called carcinogens; they may be physical, chemical or biological agents.

∵ Asbestos is made of very fine fibres; when asbestos dust is inhaled (in asbestos mines, factories and buildings), the fibres lodge in the lungs and are not removed.

⇒ They cause fibrosis of the lungs (asbestosis) and transform lung cells into cancerous cells, so asbestos is a well-known carcinogen of lung cancer (and mesothelioma).

∴ Asbestos is a reason of lung cancer.
