Read the following four statements (A-D) : How many of the above statements are wrong ?

  1. Two
  2. One
  3. Four
  4. Three

Answer

(4) Three

Solution

A: Wrong. As per NCERT, the yellowish fluid colostrum secreted during the initial days of lactation has abundant antibodies (IgA), not antigens, to protect the infant.

B: Wrong. Chikungunya is a viral disease transmitted by the Aedes mosquito, not a bacterial one.

C: Correct. As per NCERT, healthy (virus-free) plants can be recovered from diseased plants by removing the meristem and growing it in vitro.

D: Wrong. As per NCERT, wine and beer are produced without distillation, whereas whisky, brandy and rum are produced by distillation of the fermented broth; also beer is made from malted barley, not grape juice.

∴ Three statements (A, B and D) are wrong.
