Commonly used vectors for human genome sequencing are :
- BAC and YAC
- T/A Cloning Vectors
- T-DNA
- Expression Vectors
Answer
(1) BAC and YAC
Solution
As per NCERT, in the Human Genome Project the total DNA of a cell is isolated and converted into random fragments of relatively smaller sizes.
These fragments are cloned in suitable hosts using specialised vectors, which can carry large DNA inserts.
The commonly used hosts were bacteria and yeast, and the vectors were BAC (bacterial artificial chromosomes) and YAC (yeast artificial chromosomes).
