One of the constituents of the pancreatic juice which is poured into the duodenum in humans is
- trypsinogen
- chymotrypsin
- trypsin
- enterokinase
Answer
(1) trypsinogen
Solution
As per NCERT, the pancreatic juice contains inactive enzymes – trypsinogen, chymotrypsinogen, procarboxypeptidases, amylases, lipases and nucleases.
Trypsinogen is activated in the duodenum by enterokinase (secreted by the intestinal mucosa) into active trypsin, which in turn activates chymotrypsinogen to chymotrypsin.
Trypsinogen is the constituent poured in; trypsin and chymotrypsin are formed later, and enterokinase comes from the intestinal mucosa.
