The kinetic energy of a simple harmonic oscillator is oscillating with angular frequency of 176 rad/s. The frequency of this simple harmonic oscillator is Hz. [take = 227]

  1. 88
  2. 14
  3. 28
  4. 176

Answer

(2) 14

Solution

For x = A t:

K = 12m 2A2 2 t = 14m 2A2(1 + 2 t)

kinetic energy oscillates with angular frequency 2 .

2 = 176 rad/s

= 88 rad/s

f = 2 = 882 227 = 14 Hz

A block of mass 2 kg is attached to one end of a massless spring whose other end is fixed at a wall. The spring-mass system moves on a frictionless horizontal table. The spring's natural length is 2 m and spring constant is 200 N/m. The block is pushed such that the length of the spring becomes 1 m and then released. At distance x m (x < 2) from the wall, the speed of the block will be

  1. 10 [1 - (2 - x)2 ] 12 m/s
  2. 10 [1 - (2 - x)2 ] 32 m/s
  3. 10 [1 - (2 - x)2 ] m/s
  4. 10 [1 - (2 - x)2 ]2 m/s
