The part of Fallopian tube closest to the ovary is

  1. Isthmus
  2. Infundibulum
  3. Cervix
  4. Ampulla

Answer

(2) Infundibulum

Solution

As per NCERT, each Fallopian tube (oviduct) has three parts:

⇒ infundibulum – the funnel-shaped part closer to the ovary, with finger-like fimbriae that collect the ovum after ovulation;

⇒ ampulla – the wider middle part;

⇒ isthmus – the last, narrow part joining the uterus.

The cervix is part of the uterus, not of the Fallopian tube.
