The common bottle cork is a product of

  1. Phellogen
  2. Xylem
  3. Vascular Cambium
  4. Dermatogen

Answer

(1) Phellogen

Solution

As per NCERT, phellogen (cork cambium) cuts off cells on both sides; the outer cells differentiate into cork or phellem.

∵ Cork cells are dead, suberised and impervious to water, cork from the bark of Quercus suber is used to make bottle corks.

∴ Bottle cork is a product of phellogen.
