If you suspect major deficiency of antibodies in a person, to which of the following would you look for confirmatory evidence?

  1. Serum albumins
  2. Fibrinogen in the plasma
  3. Serum globulins
  4. Haemocytes

Answer

(3) Serum globulins

Solution

As per NCERT, fibrinogen, globulins and albumins are the major plasma proteins.

⇒ Fibrinogen is needed for clotting of blood, albumins help in osmotic balance, and globulins are primarily involved in defence mechanisms of the body.
