[figure] is the floral formula of

  1. Petunia
  2. Brassica
  3. Allium
  4. Sesbania.

Answer

(1) Petunia

Solution

The given formula shows:

⇒ : actinomorphic flower; bisexual.

⇒ K(5): five united sepals; C(5): five united petals.

⇒ A5 joined to the corolla by an arc: five epipetalous stamens.

⇒ G(2): bicarpellary, syncarpous gynoecium with a superior ovary.

As per NCERT, this is the floral formula of Solanaceae, and Petunia belongs to Solanaceae.

∵ Brassica (Brassicaceae) has a tetradynamous androecium, Allium (Liliaceae) a trimerous perianth and Sesbania (Fabaceae) a zygomorphic flower,

∴ the formula is of Petunia.
