Compared to a bull a bullock is docile because of:
- Lower levels of adrenalin/noradrenalin in its blood
- Lower levels of blood testosterone
- Higher levels of thyroxin
- Higher levels of cortisone
Answer
(2) Lower levels of blood testosterone
Solution
A bullock is a castrated bull, i.e. its testes are removed.
As per NCERT, the Leydig cells of the testis secrete androgens, mainly testosterone, which influence male sexual behaviour (libido) and aggressiveness.
Without testes the blood testosterone level is very low.
The bullock is docile because of lower levels of blood testosterone.
