The repeating unit -NH(CH2)6NH-CO(CH2)4CO- is that of nylon 6,6.

As per NCERT, nylon 6,6 is prepared by the condensation polymerisation of hexamethylenediamine with adipic acid:

nH2N(CH2)6NH2 + nHOOC(CH2)4COOH

[NH(CH2)6NH-CO(CH2)4CO ]n + 2nH2O

∵ It is formed from two different monomer species,

∴ it is a copolymer (a condensation polymer, and a thermoplastic fibre — not thermosetting).
