Ques. 1JEE Main 2024, 31 January (Evening Shift)

In the following circuit, the battery has an emf of 2 V and an internal resistance of 23 . The power consumption in the entire circuit is W. [figure]

Answer

3

Solution

Left side and right side of the square are plain wires, so every 2 Ω path joins the same two points L and R.

Top and bottom: 2 each; each diagonal: 2+2=4

1RLR= 12+ 12+ 14+ 14= 32 RLR= 23

Req= 23+ 23= 43 (with internal resistance)

P= E2Req= 44/3=3 W

Answer: 3
