Ques. 1JEE Main 2024, 1 February (Morning Shift)

Let 3, 7, 11, 15, , 403 and 2, 5, 8, 11, , 404 be two arithmetic progressions. Then the sum, of the common terms in them, is equal to .

Answer

6699

Solution

First common term =11; common difference =LCM(4, 3)=12

Common terms: 11, 23, 35, up to 403

11+(n-1)12 403 n-1 32.6 n=33, last term =11+32 12=395

∴ Sum = 332(11+395)=33 203=6699

Answer: 6699
