As per NCERT, cis-platin, cis-[PtCl2(NH3)2], and related compounds inhibit the growth of tumours.

In cis-platin the two NH3 ligands are on the same side (adjacent) and the two Cl ligands on the other side, as in structure (3).

(1) is Zeise's salt anion, (2) is [PtCl4]2- and (4) is trans-[PtCl2(NH3)2] (trans-platin), which is not used as an anticancer drug.
